Discussions
about how to proceed
The 3 or 4 dollars a month for a
name@virtualTaos.net
is reasonable given that it would allow a merchant to have an permanent virtualTaos email account. The accounts would even be better if the spam filters really was working. SafePort has done such wonderful work on this for OntologyStream Inc accounts.
When the Virtual Taos "system” is set up, then we will include this offer of an email address as part of the benefits of retail/business membership in the virtual museum system. The membership package has to be more than merely the email accounts, but this benefit is a very substantial one.
The discussion about the BCNGroup’s safeNet is stalled due to the prostitution that occurs on the MUD (multiple user domain) that Nathan and I researched (www.madwolfsw.com ) .
A discussion about memetic defenses and prostitution type inhibitions to positive behavior is at:
http://www.bcngroup.org/beadgames/TaosDiscussion/17.htm
This discussion is part of our work to understand the inhibitory effects of phenomenon like the prosperity gospel.
Kelly and I talked this morning about "Informational Transparancy". As I brought the topic up, Kelly responded as he has in the past for this topic. "Well Paul, what about identity thief?". We then went into a meta-discussion about memetic defenses that our culture supports. This was a very productive meta-discussion because we were able to focus off of the defensive mechanisms (the “live” in our minds and behavior) protecting an inhibition from information transparency.
We talked about the current laws regarding non-smoking in restaurants, and how this wonderful prohibition was won over a long period of time and with great effort. The current prohibition is from smoking on other people (who do not what to be smoked on), took many decades and is still resisted by the political/economic/social system.
The right to NOT BE SMOKED ON was partially won only with the lives of perhaps a million or more individuals (and the war on smoking is not yet won).
The same is true now with the full concept that I developed for U. S. Customs, and that was rejected by Tom L Bush (the official with responsibility for a 4.2 Billion dollar expenditure for “modernizing the IT infrastructure within U. S. Customs”.)
The concept of Informational Transparancy was not part of the failed DARPA Total Information Awareness (TIA) project (run by Poindexture). TIA funding was responsible for perhaps as much as 800 Million in indirect expenditures (2002- 2004) given primarily to SAIC (Hicks and Associates) and Booze Allen Hamilton. This amount would be disputed by SAIC, but I have proof that this was in amount spent in the name of “evaluating TIA technology”. There was no evaluation by competent individuals of TIA type technology. What occurred was social welfare for SAIC and BAH.
My work for US Customs, using a contract that I took a leave of absence from in February 2005; was that Total Information Awareness, with Informational Transparancy in Secure Channels could be demonstrated in four months at a cost of $750,000.
http://www.bcngroup.org/area1/2005beads/GIF/RoadMap.htm
The issue is “informational transparency” when the war profiteering, the cigarette smoking and the advertising, and other forms harmful behavior can only occur in a society that DOES NOT have informational transparency.
The secure channels part of the solution we have proposed cannot be talked about without first addressing the memetic protection that our culture provides to the inhibition of informational transparency.
Total Information Awareness and Informational Transparancy both occur if one uses non-W3C ontology standards (see discussion at [26] [24]).
Having secure channels is just a question of not using the standard Microsoft or J2EE technologies. The use of Cubicon would be recommended.
