The trip to Terlingua

The previous bead [12] brings us to the trip to Terlingua, and to the valuable discussions we had on the trip down to Terlingua and on the trip back up.

Gardening work at the Indian Hills Inn at Taos

Going to Terlingua required that we leave gardening work at the Inn.

The trip required that balances that had been worked on at the Inn in Taos be left without support.  This absence of support was to become part of the experiences we had to move through on our return.  The balances involve our own awareness and legitimization of not only our mastery of our own self-consciousness.  The balances involve an ability to clearly see the realities of others.  If we can see these realities well, and not engage in competition, then we are in a position to act collaboratively.

In particular, the development of some aspects of the Pruitt Virtual Museum had to be set aside so that other aspects could be developed and extended.

A high degree of collaboration can be achieved without a sense of control or the use of lines of influences (see the Appreciation, Influence, Control model developed by Professor Smith at [*].

One cannot say everything about the circumstances of our lives.  Our lives are far too complex.  We all know that maintaining balances is so difficult.  Engaging in competition is a lot easier than a transparent collaboration since we only have to be aware of how the other’s realities can be harmed.  So many of us almost always engage in a destructive type of competition in order to maintain our balances.
