We will be able to see, for the first time, the paths of discourse used to recruit new members to those forms of radical Islam that have declared a holy war on the Western way of life.

Interest frames define abstractions to capture the delineation of a theory of type descriptive of human interests.  Functionality frames are abstractions for the level of functioning associated with human interests.  Situation frames are used to express ontological precedence problems and to introduce entailment logics over the expression of concepts in natural language.

These three frame types each have unique descriptive capabilities.

Interest frames

The interest frames may be completely described by delineating a theory of affordance type ...  and this work is likely to have been done by the ecological psychology community, Robert Shaw, Peter Kugler, Michael Turvey.  Other communities who have work on the structural constraints to the expression of "interest" in social systems are:

social network theory

evolutionary psychology

cognitive engineering

etc

please note that the Soviet school of applied semiotics (Pospelov, Osipov and Finn) developed quasi axiomatic theory to partially formalize a Q-SAR (qualitative structure activity relationship) investigative methodology in chemistry, esoteric physics, and social systems.  See Chapter 6, Knowledge Foundations

The development of anticipatory functions, which you do in the later part of Part II, can use instantiate trees... (or graphs)  or constructions similar to what Bob Shaw has talked about for these past few decades.. ie, fiber bundles.  We make this statement here to indicate how much integrative scholarship is needed to bring the known work together in support of the Adi structured ontology.

Functionality frames

We will have less to say here about functionality frames, except to indicate that substructural aggregation and functional use of the whole aggregated compound may be best discussed using Gerald Edelman’s notion of response degeneracy.  Edelman uses the notion of response degeneracy to indicate a characteristics underconstrained potential.  He notes that the realization of function in biological processes is subject to a many to many constraint.  Many different bags of substructural elements, biochemical reactants, can be bound together in a present moment to produce the identical “function”.  And since biological systems, and non-biological systems, identify precise functions that need to occur, the many to one assembly of substance allows a required flexibility.  Conversely, one observes with Edelman, that one bag of atoms can serve many purposes.

In a structured ontology, the ontology has layers of organization.  The many to many processes are cross scale and involved the collapse of set partitions into categories, ie categoricalAbstraction (cA), and the use of elements from categories as a means to satisfy eventChemistry (eC).  As such, it is useful to use the terms endo-physics and exo-physics to talk about the (sub)- structural compositions and the functionality of a frame within an environment.

Situation frames
