The Taos Discussion

Getting ready for the Winter

In my drive from Taos to New Mexico Highland University, about 75 miles away, I was able to photograph a few of the wonderful maintain flowers.

Kelly and I talked this morning about the phenomenon of “making up one’s mind”.  The discussion lead to one where the second sense talked about in many Old Way circles is compared with the scientific investigation.  The cognitive neuroscience and quantum cognitive neuroscience literatures are well known to me.  Kelly has been reading a number of the key authors and thus is not un-aware of this work.

The limitations of scientific investigations of cognitive function are well known and discussed in specific literatures.

The second sense is mostly an oral tradition passed from one seer to another seer – mostly within Native American communities.  However “street smarts” is also derived form the personal development of a second sense (without defining what “second sense” may mean.)

Thyere is a problem with polemics.  So we understand that what is said is not so important as what is not imposed on what is said.

The Great Books culture imposes a great deal, without one’s ability to easily say “wait”.  “Wait on your judgment about what is ignorant and what is not.”

We are getting ready to set up a tipi next to the two gypsy wagons:

Pruitt’s outfit parked on the back lawn at the Indian Hills Inn

The other side of the wagons is being converted into gardens:

Garden preparation using straw and trenching

In addition to thinking through the issues related to the establishment of the virtual museum system software (and getting it on line as

virtualTaos ),

we are thinking about the publishing of the six books as a set.

But there are also the issues related to the work done for U S Customs and the failures of the funding mechanisms, as well as those issue related to the university governance (including New Mexico Highland University and “all” other universities).

Not everyone sees how these issues are all connected in my mind and can be linked together into technologies and governance
