The path forward

On the design of micro-farm ecosystem

It takes a while to understand the history and character of an individual.

My sense is that the linkage to the problems that are present in intelligence information technology procurements have caused you to pause in developing a conversation with me.  I understand how a citizen might be cautious in the fact of this weight.

Intelligence community reform is not necessarily an all consuming issue for me, but is one that I have gained leverage on for over a period of about a decade - since I was director of the Neural Network Research Facility at Georgetown University in the early 1990s.  My current circumstances have been a borderline crisis for the past three years as I have struggled to bring a class of AC-IT technologies forward into a market.  But I am grateful for what I have.

I am seeking some way to make a transition into a stable economic and cultural state where myself, and colleagues who share my passion, might serve the nation and the world while enjoying personal health and happiness.

The technology that I have developed, and extended from other's work, is part of a definition of what we refer to as the knowledge sciences.  We have worked out a great deal of detail on how a knowledge technology business eco-system might be owned in common by the broad class of knowledge technology innovators.  This means that we will resist narrowly focused monopolies over these innovations by those who are good a gaining credit for other’s works and good at taking ownership from those who are other wise occupied.

In terms of the bead game literature, we are in a time of crisis where some deep issues when surfaced have troubling aspects.  But there are also points of influence that when captured and played will move the game to elegant resolution.  The glass bead game metaphor is complemented with a metaphor form the Magic (the card game) structure of formation and play.  The FCC Waste Fraud and Abuse complaint I have filed, and the testimony that is being prepared from a community of scientists, businessmen and innovators are big cards that are played to effect the power of our community to say no to the capture of government by crony capitalism.

This is not your crisis, and in fact there may be a gentle path to cause knowledge about micro-farm closed ecosystems to play “as a magic card”.  My sense is that you can see this path better than most.

I am sorry that the other aspects of stress and conflict are also present.  I am 53, was raised in an esoteric community; but then made a transition to the "mainstream" through the 16-year process of gaining the PhD in pure mathematics (1988).  But this advanced knowledge in both mathematics/science and esoteric thought places me outside the mainstream – while being able to address any issue of formal thought that is needed to counter such things as the silly AI mythology.

But in a purely positive light, this background gives me a body of knowledge about how complex biological, cognitive, and social systems use structural constraint to fulfill function.

If there was an opportunity to design several examples of micro-farm closed ecosystems then perhaps my community might help in packaging this knowledge into a type of meme that could be circulated and perhaps used by individuals who, like you (and I) just want to find a place to live, raise our family, where contributions to the social good are clear and unambiguous.

Let me say one more thing about money.  There are around 120 individuals whom I know who have made foundational contributions to what could be called the knowledge sciences.  ALL of those individuals are improvised by the mismatch between what the economic/political/social systems reinforce and what is not reinforced in a functionally effective fashion.

The mismatch is a functional impedance in potential that has created a casual structured force that may be instrumental in recovering the American democracy, and (most importantly) allowing a transition away from a republic now controlled by crony capitalism (to use John Kerry's term).

The American Republic fails if the federal and state governments are controlled by hidden special interests.
