The BCNGroup Beadgames

2005 BCNGroup Report to the Congress

On the Nature of science and cultural Polemics à

On the discussion of data regularity à

On the Stephenson Cyber Attack Taxonomy  à

This note is one of those that are a summary of where we as a core team and community are.

2004 has been difficult financially for most of us, but there are many indications that 2005 will be a very good year for our companies and for individuals.

There are deployment possibilities that are based on the development of conceptual roll-up, or conceptual indexing.  Tom and Pat Adi are working in support or revealing capabilities that open a new market for the technologies that we have.  Specifically they are preparing an illustration of the creation of themes and sets of cultural interests as experienced by a reader of the Aesop fables.

This new capability has been explicit in how the Readware software was designed even as early as 1986.  However, the capability is not what the market has exploited.  Retrieval technology has developed to fit a specific set of expectations about how to use a retrieval system.

Over the past two decades, a gradual evolution of the technical solutions to key-word based retrieval has not changed how a user interacts with the retrieval technology.

The market does not anticipate the new conceptual roll-up capability, so the capability has to be show cased.
