Might we interact with members of this group [link] in preparation for a US group support for our joint approach to DERI for 3M 3 year proposal to create biologically oriented "natural complex" ontology construction and methodology based on
1) the BCNGroup Roadmap --> extended into Service Oriented Architecture and SEE (Semantic Execution Environment - new OASIS working group)
2) the Unified Formal Ontology concept structure advanced by your group (as a representation of the ontology consistent with Aristotle
I have a (non-disclosed) industry partner that will participate in the generalization of the BCNGroup Roadmap to a SOA + SEE architecture for web services.
The issue that I feel we need to ask the EU support on is in developing complex ontology where the logical entailments are not set by first order logics.
This means conceptual ontology.
It also means adopting fully the Rosen definition of natural complexity, and the relational theories that Rosen developed from his 1950-60’s work with Rashensky (father of modern theoretical biology) .
