Communication from Jay Paraki
I see a good discussion building up.
PSP said: "Thinking
things though from ground principles should involve asking why an enterprise,
or a civilization, should do each of the 14 principles exposed by Deming".
Deming was first sought by the Japanese post world war II for his views and emphasis on Statistics as a determinant of an industry's success. Subsequently, when the anticipated results began emerging and people could see the impact generated on ground he had reached a level of experience when he could publish a book "Out of Crisis".
From this I conjecture that the application of his 14 charter points could certainly prevent major corporate crises. However, it is by no means evident that existing global enterprises that endorse Deming's System of Profound Knowledge are in fact deeply applying the 14 principles. They are quite happy with a middle path. There may be reasons for this satisfaction.
PSP said: "Is there a spiritual reason from some
of these principles, for example? If
there are spiritual reasons can these be examined? Does success through organization principles lead to winners
and losers"?
In my opinion this is a matter of individual and collective judgment. It requires progressive contemplation. I am not sure whether I can state in few sentences if there are spiritual reasons that can be examined.
PSP said: "To achieve the breakthrough that is
needed, world wide, by small and large organizations; we need examples of
ontology use that creates real events that demonstrate collective
intelligence. Money saved, time
expenditures reduced, social value gained".
I have attached a survey from the National Psoriasis Foundation. A reading of the report will tell us the kind of misery those 4.5 million patients are going through. There are some practical solutions that will lessen their miseries. It requires team work, collective intelligence and use of Ontology. And of course, the other benefits automatically accrue.
