Bead duplicated in the educational renewal [14]
The virtual Museum system and virtualTaos
Nathan,
We need to develop a core engine that can be used to extend and scale
Features include
· real time chat [1] (Note about harvesting the chat [2] )
· real time video streaming from the virtualTaos business owners “location” or locations. [3]
· forums
· support of special types of web logs related to the anticipatory harvesting of social discourse by community (this is important for reasons discussed elsewhere)
· access to private and public areas [4]
· transaction awareness (using something like the Road Map concepts)
· support the use of credit cards (perhaps with a PayPal membership for ALL virtualTaos.net shops)
· display of painting images from a database (one that is not going to have to change every four hours because the data base provider is no long supporting the old version.) Hassle free open source data base for display of painting in a complex fashion (almost as if in a MUD)
[1] The real time chat is to allow virtualTaos business owners to talk with someone who would log on. In some cases, the person would be known as if someone in a mall. Each of the business owners would be a completely known person… so that trust could be established – as if someone was in a shop in a mall.
[2] The chat and forums is harvested in order to develop two levels of thematic analysis of the social discourse. This harvest does not keep information about the individual, but does build theme ontology (machine representation of themes in social discourse). The discourse is thus not the same as one often finds in chat rooms.
[3] The notion of location has been written about at various places within the technical and scientific basis. “Location” is conveyed through the Internet in chat, forums, but also as a fixed position video cam that is pointing into a room or at a geographical sight (such as Taos Mountain). The video provides a security element as the owner of the virtualTaos business should be able to log on to his virtualTaos site and see the room or sight that he/she expects.
[4] One of the key benefits to virtualTaos.net is an enhancement of the business to business connectivity needed to reduce costs and increase values. Some private areas are needed then.
