Global Information Framework

The pdf file

describes a Semantic Web Service Design Environment using a constraint that each term has a unique meaning.

In this 2004 pdf file that are many excellent links to standardization processes that depend on a similar view of what is needed to provide ontology mediated information sharing within diverse and distributed communities.

The Global Information Framework is designed to use a basic capability that STARTS with the assumptions generally made about a unique identifier.  The following additions are then made:

1)       Communities of practice, and individuals within the several communities that a specific individual is in, will intentional ambiguate meaning as part of everyday use of natural language.  So a reconciliation of terminology drift and differences in intended meaning is a natural part of social use of natural language.  This feature of everyday living has to be accommodated by the notion that meaning can be precise and that meaning can be fixed within a standard.  The current proposals to government entities are based on the SchemaLogic technology as realized in intellectual property developed by Brianna Anderson [1].

2)       The reconciliation of terminology differences that has been instrumented by SchemaLogic is part of a deeper revolution that is captured by a group in Germany, with offices now in Santa Fe NM.  This group has developed a technology for switching “logics” at tipping points where reconciliation of terminology differences are seen, measured, to occur.

3)       A constraint language, similar but also different in how reconciliation is addressed, is needed; and we expect to find this in a standardization process involving inter-module ontology communications as part of the Differential Ontology Framework.
