Technological Innovation as an Evolutionary Process

We are focused on creating a thematic model of the issues related to the computer science and IT not being vetted by natural science. Some of the thought leaders in the Semantic Web community have my greatest respects. Some are highly capable scientists. I hope that decisions will be made that allows time to be spent on a discussion about the grounding of Semantic Web concepts in the natural sciences.
Several groups are talking about the need for a gathering conference, where the key thought leaders could meet. Beyond this first meeting, we envision a series of conferences and a virtual collaboration system dedicated to the development of a science of knowledge systems curriculum for K-12 and college.
The price tag is $60,000,000. A program this large is put into the federal budget two years in advance. The lines of influence and expertise one needs to make the legislative arrangement is in place and can be discussed privately. Soon a more public knowledge of the details will be available.
So this is an interesting and difficult task, but one that is receiving exposure at the top of the national political structure here in the States.
