As you know, the BCNGroup is building a grass roots movement.  The leadership of this movement has articulated some issues regarding the hold that certain business practices and certain academic disciplines have come to have on the design and implementation of enterprise information systems, and more generally on how we as a society view responsibility.  One might make the statement that the current generation of IT systems have deep problems with both truth and responsibility to create the best system possible.

As expressed at [42]

Our two problems are:

1) The AI polemic and related mythology

2) The control of funding activities (government, and venture capital) by self centered business processes.

Both of these problems are problems of "religion", in that those who are most responsible for the pain will not open up a discussion about deep-seated accepted behaviors without a war of some type.  They act with various types of blatant coercion.

This coercion has been reified by the rules of the business and consulting game.  Many people have been fired, nor not funded, because of the power of this religion.  We continue to have this problem.

Criticism is always difficult to give (properly) and difficult to be the object of.  Industry should face the criticism that IT contractors are exploiting the right to charge Time and Materials.

The purpose of documentation is to have available a significant number of first person accounts regarding the two problems mentioned above.
