concept of standardizing unique definitions for words
Stu (www.logicu.com )
It might be possible to develop, in Austin and in Northern Virginia, an "institute" where Second School training is localized. Distance learning and certification might be developed by KMInstitute.
Perhaps we should, quickly, develop a series of communications into the XML-Austin users group. The communications would ask those who would like to be founding members of this institute to identify themselves. There are some initial projects, some with some small scale funding that can be discussed under proper confidentiality/trust agreements.
A business model developed for the Institute.
There are several BCNGroup projects that are funded at very low levels ($1,500 - $3,000 per month) which if talent were brought to bear could rapidly result in increases to the "client's" current contracts.
Our potential to effect current existing contract levels might allow for the possibility that an Institute in Austin would rapidly become an employer. The business model might use some type of model were code development is outsourced to very experienced and trusted XML developers in the United States.
If one or two of these current project are successful in a way that can be publicly illustrated (and this "proof of product" has been a key problem) then four or five other projects (which are not now supported financially but which has a history) might sign development contracts at the 20 - 100K levels).
At one point, the larger projects with US Customs and with SAIC and Lockheed Martin will be feasible.
The BCNGroup founders are trying to bracket the notion that unlike traditional (UML) code development, correct and proper ontological modeling is a process that cannot be outsourced to hard-core computer science type people. XML developers are already tuned to this fact. However, the Institute(s) would develop a process methodology that explicitly recognizes that the work that is available to talented XML programmers.
The Institute business model must free those that we work for from future obligations to continue contracts. This is the well-known current IT contracting model. The initial expectation is not meet and the project is stalled in a fully paid for and yet "half" completed. This "half completed" is itself often an illusion. The project has no chance of ever completing. This is “First School”.
IMPORTANT: The key distinction here is that HIP assumes
an "intelligence design" to the way that things in the real world
work. The assumption is one that is
core to the knowledge sciences and the required evolution of natural science
from the limitations imposed by Hilbert mathematics and first order logics.
History shows, will show, that the assumption of an intelligent design has been excluded from being "science" by the intellectual establishment, as the recent TV programs on conflicts between religion and science seems to point out.
Because there is, in fact more than adequate empirical evidence for, an intelligent design the ontological models cannot be fixed in advance, and certainly not by the average software engineer whose educational background has specifically excluded training in the natural sciences. (There are two claims here, one is that the computer science training is incorrect. The second is that the task is not properly defined.)
There does not exist some universal ontological model for all natural systems, like classical physics assumes exists for engineering.
We see the first Institute to be in Northern Virginia, and the second one in Austin.
Some how I would like to return to my Texas roots and living and retiring in Austin would certainly do this.
There is something about the Austin culture that one knows is ready for a re-birth. The concept of a Texas silicon valley has long been quelled by the dot com bubble, and Austin's IT market is close to zero.
My hope and sense is that you may provide some elements of this re-birth process by identifying a group in Austin to teach about stratified theory and the Second School. My fee for each person who would attend is $100.
I will be meeting with an angel investor again this week and he might make the first major investment in Ontologystream, in which case the business model is taken over by the angel.
We will see.
I am way behind in editing materials

as we work be bring the science foundation to the second school.
But I it is likely that a new version of this material will be posted by Monday afternoon.
Austin has esoteric roots and so that possibility exists for starting the revolution from the capital of Texas as well as from the Capital of the US. One of the keys will be in the exhibition of how ontological modeling will serve B-2-B and B-2-C ecosystems. The SafeNet and the virtual museum system might be the first realization of HIP (Human-centric information production) where sets of defined concepts are subsetted
