If there is a complex structure to the manifestation of time and experience, how does that structure break down/extend to 'artificial' intelligence, and what exactly is artificial intelligence?

To what extent do human creations participate in the same structures as humans do?

'How do computers experience the world?'  How fundamental are these temporal structures, and how much does something have to participate in the experience of time to be experienceable?

I know that you hold, simplistically, that the difference between natural and created systems is that natural systems are complex and created ones are simple, but how deep does this difference go?
