There is a structure to the expression of time, or at least it seems this way.  Activity spreads in the social networks and through other means (Sheldrake's, Jung's notions) .   There could be mechanisms that science might reveal to us.  This work is important in understanding cell and gene expression, as well as social and personal expression. 

 

I have learned that it is preservation, of effort, at these times, and social kindness/correctness, that sometimes allows for the right communication at the right time.  These times in which we all get busy is when and where the how and why is accessable.   The comprehension of the other becomes at these moments more potent. 

 

In part this is why we all get busy at the same time, I conjecture. 

 

The "J-39" system for the harvest of all world-wide (outside the States) harvest of blogs and media web sites was once a open source project and I a senior scientist.  During my time working on this system, I could see for the first time that there can be, how there can be, a measurement of the interactions of the complex natural world in real time. 

 

The nature of complexity (of the type defined by Rosen) would suggest that "the degree of complexity" has to be seen qualitatively... and for this description logic based ontology takes us a step towards such measurement. 

 

But n-ary representation (as seen in the work of Sandy Klausner or the work of Richard Ballard) does not allow the first order logics to structure the informational patterns.  This leads to the Orb (Ontology referential base) work.   By leaving out the final formalization of information structure, by not saying that “semantics” is sameAs “information structure”, one can create a “stratified” ontological model of the invariances at different lays of information organization. 

 

It takes a while to get to what is actually possible. 

 

What I feel is immediately possible:

 

The "semantic extraction" (a phrase which like "artificial intelligence" and others is slightly misleading) of concept structure as expressed in real time measurement of social structure will produce "actionable intelligence".    Applications are in e-commerce as well as in the synthesis of scientific literatures and social debate.  “Who” does the measurement and how is this done is a second set of questions. 

 

Description logic based specification of information structure derived from several means is in the BCNGroup Roadmap and in other recent efforts (your group's efforts being one of them, as well as work by TopQuadrant and Semantion). 

 

The generalized capability is to stand up an ability to monitor transparently, any "transaction space".  When the BCNGroup Roadmap was developed in early 2005, the contractors did not understand the Roadmap.  I take responsibility for this absence of communication.
