A future message from Paul Werbos à

I am not an expert on semantic web and the like...but a broader question has arisen in some discussions here.

To what extent is the world collecting and organizing major streams of data in such a way that one cannot go back and apply time-series methods of inference/induction, in order to learn about the dynamics of system under study?

Certainly anyone who records a snippet of speech records a time-series, or competent macroeconomic data.

But what about these text repositories?

If one is interested in anticipation or prediction, it is rather essential to be able to analyze dynamics as seen in prior history.
